Not all scanning services are created equal.

I had a recent client with slides from the 1960s who, years prior, had taken a subset of their slide collection to a larger scanning company to be digitized.

Comparing the Sincerely Kept scan and the large company scan shows an incredible difference.

1. Sincerely Kept will clean your slides and photos to produce the best possible scan.

   Even the best quality equipment will not compensate for dust particles. Dust simply sticks out like a sore thumb when scanning any photo, but most especially with slides. While slides aren’t easy to clean, I invest the time in cleaning slides because, as you can see for yourself, it is worth it for the result. Cleaning slides and photos can also help with their longevity, as it removes surface debris that could degrade your memories over time.

2. Sincerely Kept will color correct your slides and photos.

   Color correcting photos is an art that is not simple nor easy, but even the simplest of color corrections can make an old photo, new again.

   Because the original slide was kept in cold, damp conditions for decades, the physical slide will always discolored. Therefore, the colors in the large scanning operation version are the colors that appear in the original slide.

   With software and a couple of adjustments, the original colors have been digitally restored. It is absolutely incredible that the detail and colors still exist under the degradation.

   The lack of color correction can emotionally distance anyone from the content of the photo. But the color adjustments brings life back into that moment.
